Facilities Coordinator

Facilities Coordinator
The Facilities Manager proactively maintains the campus building and grounds at Richmond Waldorf School.  This part time position will report to the Director of Administration. He/She will work with faculty and staff to create an safe, clean, and beautiful environment.  Hours to be determined.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides general maintenance services in the following areas: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Building repairs and preventative maintenance

  • Monitors and completes daily work requests in a timely fashion

  • Maintains the school grounds (appearance and safety)

  • Responds to emergency situations as needed

  • Prepares for school functions and cleans up after event

  • Keeps inventory of equipment

  • Supervises the cleaning staff

  • Recommends improvements of maintenance

  • Provides assistance to outside service vendors (utilities, HVAC, alarm system, cleaning service, etc.)

  • Provides general janitorial services during the school day as necessary


  • Maintains inventory of all keys and record of keys issues to faculty and staff. Maintains all locks are in good order

  • Develops and maintains proper function of electronic security system. Acts as chief contact for monitoring service

  • Manages and supervises the daily locking and unlocking of buildings

  • Coordinates snow day functions

  • Recommends security improvements as needs

  • Monitors the entire campus daily

Campus Grounds

  • Cleans outdoor areas weekly

  • Coordinates trash pick up

  • Manages landscape services provider and trims/mows if needed outside scope of service

  • Provides general repairs to grounds (fences, driveways, lawnmowers, bathrooms, etc.)

  • Spreads mulch and weeds our plantings areas routinely

  • Installs equipment and lines fields

  • Recommends campus improvements

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintains effective working relationships within the school

  • Serves on the Safety Committee

  • Schedules Fire, Tornado and Lockdown drills with the approval of Director of Administration

  • Attends meetings when requested by Director of Administration

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Administration
