Director of Administration

Richmond Waldorf School is seeking a Director of Administration to serve as the leader of the school’s operations.  The position is responsible for daily operations including:

Staff oversight of the Administrative Specialist, Enrollment and Marketing Coordinator, Finance Coordinator, development staff and contracted staff

  • Point of contact with the Board of Trustees with regard to operations and finances
  • Budget development in collaboration with staff, Finance Committee, and Board of Trustees
  • Serving on the Leadership Team with the College Chair and Community Relations Coordinator
  • Human resources
  • Health and safety
  • Licensing, permitting, and compliance on the local, state, and federal level
  • Facilities management
  • Oversight of accreditation and liaison to various independent school organizations

The successful candidate will have superior oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and coaching skills; strong facility management skills, excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment as well as Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; excellent organizational skills; knowledge of benefits and compensation programs and other human resources programs; ability to create and manage databases; demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff; demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on a Leadership Team; demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a Board of Trustees; and the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Administration, Finance, Business, Organizational Development, Communication, or other related field; progressively responsible comprehensive experience in the broad field of business management.  Experience with organizational operations and facility management.  Experience in a non-profit environment desirable.   An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for requirements.
